David Hoffman

Veteran award winning documentary filmmaker David Hoffman has gathered together and trained thousands of video professionals to conduct high-quality longform interviews. He was inspired to do this by a video interview that he conducted with his mother 30 years ago shortly before she passed away with cancer. That video is still his family's most priceless heirloom.

In his 40 years of filmmaking Hoffman has interviewed hundreds of famous people from presidents like Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan to artists like Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan and BB King, as well as thousands of what he calls “ordinary extraordinary” citizens. As a result he has won every major award in his industry.

In addition to personally interviewing numerous people with Alzheimer's disease, David has interviewed recovering coma victims, severe head injury victims and others who have cognitive disorders. These interviews have given him unique and important insights in to how to interview people with memory loss - techniques which he has passed on to thousands of interviewers, through pamphlets, videos and other training materials.

Hoffman personally speaks to each and every videographer before they conduct their Saving Memories Video Interview to assure their complete comfort and understanding with interviewing someone with Alzheimer's and/or their loved ones.
